Garden studio training
Elio coaches adults who want to move well for the next thirty years, not just the next thirty days. Sessions run outdoors under the pergola, in small numbers, with a plan written for your week.
A covered garden studio with racks, bells and grass — open air, sheltered when it turns.
One-to-one, pairs, or groups capped at six so every lift still gets watched.
Sessions run fifty-five minutes, early mornings and evenings through the week.
The approach
Elio trained as a strength coach after a decade of desk work taught him what stiff shoulders and a tired back really cost. The first session is spent watching how you move and hearing what your week actually allows — school runs, night shifts, an old knee, a half marathon in the spring.
From there the plan is simple and repeatable: a handful of lifts you learn properly, conditioning that leaves you able to work the next day, and mobility that undoes the hours you spend sitting. Progress is written down each week so you can see it, and adjusted whenever life moves.
“Nobody needs a harder session. They need the right one, often enough to count.” Elio, head coach
Programmes
Most clients start with one and add a second block once the first feels routine. You can move between them at any point.
For anyone who wants to lift confidently and carry it into ordinary life. Technique first, load second.
Short, structured work for breathing room on hills, stairs and long days. Built around what your heart rate tells us.
The quiet session. Slow ranges, loaded stretching and breathing work for hips, shoulders and a settled nervous system.
How it works
No packages to choose before we have spoken. Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.
Tell Elio what you want to change and when you can realistically train. A few lines is plenty.
A short call to cover history, injuries and what has or hasn't worked before.
A full session in the garden studio spent assessing how you move and trying the main lifts.
You leave with a written six-week plan, your days booked in, and the home work that goes with it.
Session formats
Every format runs fifty-five minutes and includes the written plan between sessions. Rates are per person.
Undivided coaching, best for learning the lifts or working around an injury.
Bring a partner, friend or colleague. Two plans, one session, a great deal more consistency.
Capped at six. A set programme for the block with coaching on every set.
Blocks are booked six sessions at a time and paid on the first week. Nothing is charged before the movement session.
Questions
No. Plenty of clients arrive having not trained in years, or ever. The movement session exists precisely so the first block starts where you actually are rather than where a programme assumes you should be.
Trainers with a flat sole, clothes you can move in, a water bottle and a towel. Everything else — bars, bells, mats, bands — lives in the studio.
The studio is covered and heated in the colder months, so sessions run in most weather. If conditions are genuinely unsafe, Elio moves the session and you are told the evening before.
Usually, yes. Bring any notes or guidance from your physiotherapist or doctor and the plan is written around them. Where something falls outside coaching, Elio will say so plainly.
Give twenty-four hours' notice and the session moves to another slot in the same block at no cost. Life happens, and blocks are built with a little slack for it.
Enquire
Tell Elio what you are working towards and roughly when you can train. You will get a reply with two or three times for a call — no obligation beyond that.
Messages are answered within two working days.
The movement session is booked only after the call, so nothing is committed early.
When morning slots are full, you will be told where you sit rather than left waiting.
